On My Radar: Giveaways Galore

In case you don’t already know, I’m currently hosting my very first book giveaway. The “Win These Five” giveaway can be found here with one lucky winner receiving five fantastic dark fiction titles. But I’m not the only one hosting a giveaway through Book Blogger Appreciation Week–oh no. There is a metric ton of stuff happening right now and if you’re quick you can throw your name in the hat too.

Let’s start with Cate Gardner, shall we? Her new short story collection, Strange Men in Pin-Striped Suits, is being released and to celebrate there is a blog award contest under way, in which there are two fantastic prizes to be won. Not only that, but Cate is hosting a separate contest with a copy of the speculative fiction anthology Triangulation up for grabs.

Then there is Scott Nicholson and his Haunted Computer Blog Tour. The award winning author is on a tear right now with this tour, and each stop along the way offers readers a chance to win an Amazon Kindle DX. And if that’s not enough, there’s also a chance to win a Kindle 3 through his newsletter, and even a chance to win an immense number of his e-books by following him on Twitter. Just head over to his site for all the details.

Oh, so you like the looks of that Amazon Kindle Wireless, do you? Well why don’t you check out the Simply Reading Kindle Giveaway hosted by Simply Stacie and Luxury Reading. Until October 4th you have the opportunity to earn multiple entries and better your chances at winning that pretty little gadget. Plus, there are bunches of e-books to be won as well. What are you waiting for?

If that’s not enough chances to win a Kindle, then you need to head over to The Printed Page. Over there, you have a chance at winning an Amazon Kindle if you live in the U.S., while international entrants have a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card. That fantastic contest comes to an end on September 23rd.

And if you’re still not satisfied, here’s a whole list of contests and giveaways for you to check out:

  • Win two Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8 graphic novels via The Unread Reader

  • Win Gary Shteygart’s Super Sad True Love Story via Nonsuch Books (ends September 17th)

Teens Read and Write is hosting a huge Mega Book Giveaway. Click HERE for details. The contest is open until March 7th, and the more entrants there are, the more books become available to be won. At present there are going to be 20 winners. Count ’em, 20!

Links to Book Giveaways and Even a Kindle Giveaway

Always with the contests, I am. I like things that are free. Don’t you? If so, here’s a list of book giveaways that I’ve entered.

I found out today there is a giveaway for an Amazon Kindle happening at Tartitude. Click HERE for the details. As I am sans e-reader, this is of particular interest to me. I found out about it through Brande @ Book Junkie, whose birthday book contest I won recently and received a bunch of e-books. Do Kindle’s let you read PDF files?

Then there are the book giveaways.

Handle Like Hendrix has a giveaway right now for a copy of a Lili St. Crow’s sequel to Strange Angels, called Betrayals. It ends Feb. 9th, so hop to it.

Reversing the Monotony is hosting a 50 Followers Contest where two winners will each have a choice from a dozen titles. That contest ends on Valentine’s Day. If Aye-Me reaches 200 followers, she’ll add a third winner. Her follower count right now is 185. Help her out.

Celia @ Adventures with Ceclia Bedelia has a giveaway going on for a copy of Cherie Priest’s Boneshaker. That contest ends on Feb. 19th.

Horror World has their monthly Leisure Horror Book Contest again this month. This time around, you can enter for a chance to win Ray Garton’s latest novel, Scissors.

Then, there are a few book blogs hosting giveaways for Dan Simmons novels.

All About {n} is hosting a giveaway where there are five copies up for grabs of both and Simmons’ new release, DroodBlack Hills. The contest ends on Feb. 13th.

Only the Best is giving away a copy of Drood. There’s a catch though, which is that your entry must be a snarky one. Don’t ask me, they’re his rules. That contest ends Feb. 15th.

And finally, Blood of the Muse is giving away a copy of Drood. Paul’s contest ends on Feb. 20th.

Book Contest Links … more than a few

I like free books. I really, really do. But I had no idea I’d luck out the way I have so far this year. We’re not even to mid-January yet. First off, I won a copy of Nancy Holzner’s Deadtown thanks to Fantasy Literature. Thanks to both Nancy Holzner and Stephen Frank @ Fantasy Literature, as I look forward to reading that one.

And then, this week, I found out that I was drawn as the winner of Book Junkie’s Birthday Book Bash. How many books come with that prize? Only 35. What?! Yup, 35. It’s crazy, I know. And a HUGE THANK YOU to Brande for hosting the contest. I will not be at a loss for reading material in 2010, that’s for damn sure.

And yet, I’ve thrown my name in the hats of even more book contests and giveaways. Here’s a rundown in case you’re interested in doing the same.

  • There are only a couple of days left in Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review’s Giveaway for one of three copies of Orson Scott Card’s new release, Hidden Empire. Click HERE.
  • You still have a few days to visit Fantasy Book Critic for a chance to win a signed copy of Armageddon Bound by Tim Marquitz. Click HERE.
  • Jo @ Ink and Paper is celebrating her blog’s 200 follower mark with a giveaway. Four winners will be chosen for four separate books. Click HERE.
  • It’s Dark in the Dark is hosting a great contest where four winners will be drawn, too. Two winners each receive a copy of Dan Simmons’ Drood, and two winner each receive a copy of Dan Simmons’ new releases, Black Hills. Click HERE.
  • And J Kaye’s Book Blog isn’t giving away a book, but giving away a $25 Amazon gift card. One for the U.S, one for Canada, and one internationally. That’s a little bit awesome of her, wouldn’t you say? Click HERE and look for the January giveaways to pick your area.

And there are even more giveaways that I’ve entered, which you can find on the right sidebar of my blog. You shouldn’t have to scroll down far to see them.

A Pretty Big Book Contest Link

Book Junkie is hosting a rather large book giveaway contest. It’s her Happy Birthday Book Bash, in which she’ll be giving away more than 30 books to a very lucky winner–I think it’s 35 books in all.

Why 35? Well, she’s turning 35 in December. She don’t look it–flattery doesn’t gain extra points, though.

The contest is open to the U.S. and Canada, with the winner being randomly drawn on New Year’s Day. So, if you love books, click on the link above and check it out. There are a lot of contirbuting author’s to this contest, and you even get to name a few from your own wish list should you win.

Oh, I think I can come up with a few titles. 🙂

A Couple of Contest Links

J Kaye’s Book Blog has a couple of good giveaways happening right now that I couldn’t resist entering.

The first one is for an audiobook of David Cross’ I Drink For A Reason. I love that guy’s stand-up, so I’m hoping an audiobook can carry some of that humor too–I wonder if it comes with a laugh track. The contest is open to the U.S. and Canada, and the winner will be announced on Dec 12th.

The second contest is for a copy of Stuart Archer Cohen’s The Army of the Republic. An alternate glimpse of America as two sides war with each other. It could be a very good read, so I threw my name in the hat. The contest is open to U.S. and Canada, and the winner will be announced on November 28th.
